Book Review

I was sent this book The Missing Link: Found to review for you. I promptly handed it off (after briefly skimming it myself) to my bookworm daughter Eve. I have not been able to get my hands on it since. I think she is enjoying it.

Here is what the writers had to say about it (and the writers are a homeschooled mother\daughter team, how cool is that?)

The Murphy teens are propelled into another exciting adventure! While on vacation in the Keys, a devious plot unfolds, and the Murphy’s find themselves in the middle of a full-speed boat case and encounter with the FBI. Their vacation plans are then cut short by the arrival of a cryptic message from Dr. Murphy’s brother, requesting his immediate presence at an anthropological dig along the Peace River. What Dr. Murphy, Christian, and Anna find there is anything but peaceful!

Encountering a deadly illness, the Murphy’s must also wrestle with a startling discovery and its potential results. The Missing Link has been discovered, finally providing evidence for the theory of evolution. But, what about the Bible? Didn’t God create the world as recorded in Genesis? In addition, is there a connection between their adventure on the high seas and their discoveries a the dig site? Join the Murphy’s as they are faced with danger and a race against time in search for the truth.

In the Truth Seekers Mystery Series, you’ll experience adventure, mystery, heart stopping suspense, and faith played out first-hand by the Murphy family. This action adventure mystery will keep you guessing to the very end!

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, some of the others that have reviewed this book have found a few errors in it. I did not, but that is probably because I am a terrible editor as anyone who has ever read either of my blogs knows. It is also not published by a large publishing house so it is not as polished, but to me that was okay.

The reason I liked this book is that it speaks the truth and I don’t feel like I have to read over Eve’s shoulder to see what she’s being fed, and also the kids in the book are homeschooled. My kids read books all the time about kids who are in traditional school, but almost never do we find a book about a family who homeschools, so that was a nice perk.

You can check the books out here. The Missing Link: Found is the first in a series of three. It is an action packed series that boys as well as girls would really enjoy and in my opinion would make a lovely Christmas gift.

Oh, and as any good homeschooling mom would do, she wrote study guides to go along with the books. You can buy all three books and the study guides here.

And if you want to read some more reviews you can go check out what the other Crew Members had to say.

Also, check back here soon. I'm going to have a really cool give away in the next week or so!

Happy Homeschooling!
